Thank You for the Camber Sands Trip
Farah,
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising the trip to Camber Sands and for taking my mum along. This was the second time we applied for a trip, and this time we were lucky enough to be chosen — I’m so glad we were.
Although my mum’s friends had recommended the trip, she was really hesitant and uncomfortable about coming. But thanks to you and the Supporting Humanity team, she’s come home feeling confident, happy, and already talking about joining every trip in the future.
She even asked me to add Supporting Humanity on Instagram so she doesn’t miss the next announcement! She’s told me to thank you all for the happiness and wonderful memories you gave her. She’s spoken about the lovely food, the company, the volunteers, the beach, the water, the games, and even the ice lolly at the end.
I can’t tell you how much it means to see her enjoying herself like this. Thank you for making such a difference.
Ghusl Workshop
The workshop was brilliantly delivered with step by step details.
I appreciated the entire team who demonstrated such commitment and are truly invested in providing this service.
It truly is a great and much needed reminder for a reality we must all be prepared for.
Thank you to Supporting Humanity for the workshop.
May Allah reward you for your beautiful efforts. Ameen ❤️
Thank You Supporting Humanity and the CEO
I’ve been meaning to write this for a few weeks. Three weeks ago, my mum came back from the Katherine Road Community Centre with the biggest smile on her face — and tears in her eyes. I watched her for a moment before asking why. She told me she’d spoken to Idris, the CEO of Supporting Humanity. At first, I asked if everything was okay, worried something had gone wrong, but she said it was the complete opposite.
In Gujarati, she told me, “The boy made me feel like a proud mother.” Every time she thanked him, he thanked her back. Every time she gave him a compliment, he gave her two in return. No matter what she said, he made her smile.
She also met Idris’s mum that day, and later told me she’d seen a sparkle in Idris’s eyes when he looked at his mother, a sparkle that came from making her proud. My mum said, “That is why I’m crying — because I see a son who is making his mother so happy, and a mother who is so lucky to have such a son.”
Since then, this has become a regular topic in our home. Whenever my mum wants to talk about happiness, she talks about Idris and the Over 60s Club. Before, it was a struggle to get her out of the house. Now, on Monday nights she’s already preparing for Tuesday’s class — and with the new Wednesday sessions in Forest Gate, she’s already planning her week around them.
I cannot thank Supporting Humanity and Idris enough for giving my mum a new lease of life. These classes have brought her joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging. And to all the volunteers who run these sessions — please know that you are seen and appreciated. My mum talks about each of you, the activities, and the friendships she’s made. Even when her friends visit our home, Supporting Humanity is part of the conversation.
I’ve never actually met Idris. My family hasn’t met him either, but my mum has shown me photos and we’ve looked at the Supporting Humanity website. Idris, you’re spoken about in our home more often than you’d imagine — and even without knowing you personally, you’ve become part of our family.
So, thank you. And if there’s ever a way we can help you in return, please reach out.
Female Janazah Ghusl Workshop!
We are so glad that we attended this workshop—it was truly educational and an eye-opening experience for both the young and old.
I especially appreciated how the sisters made it so personable, using a fellow sister to demonstrate the step-by-step process of the janazah ghusl. The Islamic guidelines were clearly and thoughtfully explained, making the session both informative and impactful.
A heartfelt thank you to Tahreem, Sofia, Atiya, Nurse sister from Blackburn and all the other lovely sisters (sorry I forget the names) for facilitating such a meaningful experience.
May you all be abundantly rewarded for all your efforts. Ameen. 😌❤️
Ghusl workshop 3/8/2025
Alhamduilllah it was so impactful. It made me realise the finite time on earth and the duty we have to those alive and already gone. The sisters all had an impact. But the sister who was at the head of th may had the most impact at FAQ time. When she said about the importance of forgiving and asking for forgiveness very quickly.
I think experiences like this ground you and make you realise you truly belong to Allah.
I would LOVE TO PROVIDE my volunteering servic for Ghusl because I think this will help impact my Imaan positively.
Brilliant and 💯 the best.
